With its sophomore effort, "Home," metal rockers Sevendust prove they are a band to be reckoned with. They show off the project's unique, raging sound on tracks such as "Headtrip," "Insecure" and "Rumble Fish." On "Licking Cream," female vocals add a gentle texture on top of the hard sound of distorted guitars.
Vocalist Lajon can scream with bile in his throat while still making the words understandable, and his performance on this disc puts him in a league above and beyond the regular crop of heavy-rock vocalists. The rest of Sevendust back up Lajon with a perfect blend of guitar, bass and drums. Fans of the band won't be disappointed when they decide it's time for "Home."
