In the 10 minutes it takes this quintet to blaze through the six songs on this EP, they exhaust as many tempo changes as Metallica does on a full-length album. Blisteringly complex and relentlessly aggro, this EP functions better as a peculiarly long song than it does as a fleshed-out statement of intent. That's because, despite its technical prowess, it maintains a static texture that's fairly monochromatic. It's crushingly intense, but with all these chops, it's unfortunately limited.
