The whole "global chill" movement has been inching precariously closer toward frilly New Age-ism with each echoplexed sitar that gets piled atop a thumping faux-jazz beat. "World Moods" (ack!) doesn't do much to stop the decline, but it's nonetheless an enjoyable record. With too many stereotypical "cultural" elements crammed into the mix to evoke any real personality, the well-constructed flow of these dozen tracks still breezes effortlessly by, with incense-wafted stops in Brazil, Jamaica, India and the Middle East. Easy listening for the E-dropping jet set.
