Back when San Diego was the new Seattle (the first time), the phe-fucking-nomenal Circa: Now! was one of the primary reasons. In retrospect it's easy to laugh at Interscope for throwing $70 mil at RFTC because of this record and their ZIP code. Still, Circa is an excellently pounding record, in a smarter-than-the-Supersuckers kind of way, and the remastering and bonus tracks on this edition make for some prime nostalgia that makes the current San Diego frenzy seem even stupider.
