You'd expect a bar in a tiny, tourist-oriented shopping strip near Universal to be an anonymous watering hole for park-weary dads staying with their kids at one of the hotels across the street. And though its exterior is thoroughly uninviting, the inside of Reilly's Lantern Pub has the dark, worn-in feel of a neighborhood pub. With a jukebox that's as likely to issue forth Dean Martin as it is Cheap Trick (one night, we heard them back to back), a friendly and experienced bar staff, darts, pool and plenty of seating, there's no pretense here, something we're sure the tourists enjoy as much as we do.
