Fans of The Prisoner, the cult classic starring Patrick McGoohan, will recall that he played a secret agent who resigned, only to be held in 'The Villageâ? because he 'knew too much.â? Before that series, McGoohan starred as NATO-agent John Drake in Secret Agent (aka Danger Man), and many believe that The Prisoner simply continued Drake's story. This collection brings together all 86 Secret Agent episodes from the 1960s, including the set-in-Japan, full-color two-part finale. While neither as whimsical nor as original as The Prisoner (which McGoohan created), it's a taut and sophisticated thriller series marked by pretty scenery and crisp acting, especially McGoohan's wry performance. And don't forget the pulsating theme, sung by Johnny Rivers: â?There's a man who leads a life of danger....â?
