A graphical comparison of the Obama and McCain tax plans.

Think about this the next time the Republicans put out another "Oooh, scary Democrats just want to tax-and-spend all your money away" ads.

Notes -

The McCain tax plan doesn't give you even an 1% tax cut until you are making more than $66,000. I don't know about you, but that means it does virtually nothing for pretty much everyone I know. In fact, if you are in the bottom 60% of income earners, you get to keep paying taxes just like now. Only, revenues to the Federal Government will decline, as the super-rich get to knock hundreds of thousands of dollars off their tax bill.

By comparison, the Obama tax plan gives EVERYONE a tax cut, unless you are making more than $600,000 a year. It gives the largest tax breaks to the bottom 60% (i.e. us simple working-folk. Also known as you and I). In fact, the Obama plan only raises income taxes on the top 1% of income earners.

How could you even consider the Republican tax plan fair, unless you're ultra-wealthy? And if you are ultra-wealthy, how can you justify asking for MORE benefits while the rest of our economy goes down the crapper?

Seriously, I want to know - why would anyone making less than $200,000 a year even CONSIDER voting for the Republicans?
