This will work, no question

Remember how Republicans spent the latter half of 2008 telling the American people that Barack Obama was a scary "socialist," and he won rather handily anyway?

Well, never ones to learn a lesson, the idiot wing of the Republican Party is back at it, this time introducing a resolution officially labeling the Democratic Party as the "Democrat Socialist Party" - really, is the grammar so hard that you can't add the "ic" to the end of "Democratic? Or is that an insult I'm not quite grasping? - because, well, that'll show 'em.

Party jokester/chairman Michael Steele is bravely crafting a middle ground: Yes, yes, Obama is an evil socialist, but we shouldn't say that too loudly, or people might thing we're all insane.

According to the Goopers behind the scheme, this will save the Republicans by making all of America hate the Democrats Democrat Socialists. â??Just as President Reaganâ??s identification of the Soviet Union as the â??evil empireâ?? galvanized opposition to communism, we hope that the accurate depiction of the Democrats as a Socialist Party will galvanize opposition to their march to socialism.â?

Seriously, so how fucked are the Republicans right now?
