It's not like we weren't warned. For decades now, the greatest minds of our generation (George Romero, Sam Raimi, Lucio Fulci, Edgar Wright, Max Brooks, et al) have been alerting us to the inevitable undead apocalypse. But have you secured your supply of shotgun shells and canned food yet in preparation for the probable ghoul-a-palooza? Of course not!

Well, this weekend you've got one more chance to get this important message through your skull before some rotting corpse comes along and devours it for you. Playwright Todd C. Feren has been to the near future and brought back for us six tales of survival from the land of the no-longer-living.

The result is the Zombie Monologues, which premieres this weekend at Sleuths Mystery Dinner Shows on International Drive. Local actors John Connon, Elizabeth Judith, Chris Prueitt, Ryan Gigliotti, Samantha Faith O’Hare and Terrence Yip share a half-dozen harrowing tales of life in the aftermath of the zombie Armageddon.

A word of warning – just because Feren has been responsible for a number of funny shows (including Doodie Humor's Zombie Girlfriend at the 2007 Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival) doesn't mean this Halloween treat is anything but horrifying. Remember, being devoured by a brain-thirsty corpse is never a laughing matter.
