Artist Doug Rhodehamel
(aka the paper-bag mushroom guy) usually doesn’t have to worry about attendance at his openings, many of which are one-night installations. But the Friday, Nov. 5, reception for his latest project, Sea of Green
, might be a different story, because it’s going to be an hour’s drive from Orlando at the Lake Eustis Museum of Art.
Will his fans go the distance?
: Make a food stop when you get to Mount Dora, which is only a hop, skip and a jump away from lesser-known Eustis.
And here is essential info pulled from the press release:
November 5, at a 6 – 9 p.m. opening, Rhodehamel debuts his "Sea of Green," an elusive, exclusive transformation of Lake Eustis Museum of Art into a gigantic, fabulous undersea world. Light, shadow, movement and 100s of Rhodehamel’s painted, hand cut paper fish drawn from his unique imagination and crafted from discards, make an extraordinary art experience.
