Sunday, August 28 – Holiday Shores
Consider this remarkably exciting show a kind of indie State of the State address as breakout Tally beach-rockers Holiday Shores headline a night of loose-limbed garage, breezy surf and melancholic soundscapists from all over this crazy swampland of ours. Tallahassee’s Pitchfork-courting five-piece may stand the tallest out of the crowd (for now), but it’s a matter of a couple of inches when the bill includes Brevard-area punks Flashlights, offbeat Sanford warblers A.T.T.I.C. and mysterious newbies Beneath the Waves. Perhaps the strongest challenger for the top spot is prolific Gainesville artist Michael Parallax, whose gorgeous lo-fi scores are the stuff half-remembered wistful dreams are made of. – Justin Strout (with Flashlights, A.T.T.I.C., Michael Parallax, Beneath the Waves; 9 p.m. at Will’s Pub, 1042 N. Mills Ave.; $5-$7; 407-898-5803; willspub.org)
