OK, so this little fest that could’s big world premiere is called Swamp Shark and it stars Kristy “Buffy” Swanson and D.B. Sweeney, and their guest speaker (Glenn Morshower, Transformers, The West Wing) is a character actor. Still, the Central Florida Film Festival, held in Ocoee at the West Orange 5 Cinemas, is a quaint, low-pressure outlet for Florida filmmakers to experience their movies on a big screen in an awards setting, and that’s not nothing. Heavy on student flicks and national and international features with a Florida connection, there’s even a high school program, cocktail parties and seminars with entertainment attorneys and working Hollywood crew members.
