Local mellowheads Loud Valley have been swimming marathons lately. Well, at least metaphorically. Their debut LP was recorded by Thomas Johnson of The Futurebirds at a plantation in Athens that was built in 1879. Travis Reed, frontman of Loud Valley, explains "The whole record is a dream; The sun sets in the west and rises in the east." The feeling on the record only proves this notion further... Reed's etherial dream-vocals caress the relaxed and tribal chord progressions, delicately blanketing the listener in a calming swirl-pool of sound.
Having released the album for free on soundcloud, where it's still available, Austin's Electric Kittyland Records, has agreed to press this gem on vinyl to be released Sept. 14th. Following the release, they will be touring with Lighthouse Music. Check out their facebook page for official tour dates and venues.
