Friday, Oct. 21 – Béla Fleck & the Flecktones
This summer’s Rocket Science constituted the first new album by the original lineup of Béla Fleck & the Flecktones – bandleader Fleck, pianist Howard Levy, bassist Victor Wooten and percussionist Roy “Futureman” Wooten – in decades. It featured the four-time Grammy winners back in a cohesive groove, even if the genre-hopping material, incorporating everything from jazz and bluegrass to blues and African music, was anything but inflexible. Tonight, that same lineup takes the stage. Expect mounds of noodles and instruments you can’t even pronounce. – Justin Strout (7 p.m. at House of Blues, Downtown Disney West Side, Lake Buena Vista; $25-$27; 407-934-2583; hob.com)
