Few bands out there have Supersuckers’ steeze. The honky-punk party band from Seattle has a raucous heart of pure rock & roll and packs one stout kick, but they’ve never wavered in their sense of fun and revelry. And although they’re winkingly over the top in theme, they’ve never castrated themselves with too much goofiness or camp. The result is more than 20 years of cult hero status and assured cool that needs no puffery or ceremony. In all honesty, we’d much prefer another one of the Suckers’ famous double-length marathon sets with just Eddie Spaghetti opening, but we’ll take every bit of their action anytime we can.
