Tuesday, Nov. 15 – Peter Wolf Crier
Yes, Norwegian indie darling Sondre Lerche is indeed headlining, and that’s cool. But we seriously think you’re going to kick yourself if you don’t show up early enough to catch Minneapolis band Peter Wolf Crier. And we don’t want you to do that. For one thing, their finespun indie rock casts wondrous musical landscapes with meticulous topography. But their recently released sophomore album, Garden of Arms, on the tasteful Jagjaguwar label proves that the band is advancing on surer feet than ever. Although their vibe-rich melodies are arabesque and crystalline, their highly rhythmic arrangements quiver with an energy that has dynamism and surprising force. It’s music that’s crafted with skill, confidence and innovation. – Bao Le-Huu (with Sondre Lerche; 8 p.m. at the Social, 54 N. Orange Ave.; $15-$17; 407-246-1419; thesocial.org)
