Friday, Dec. 16The 12 Bars of Christmas Pub Crawl

We’ve never really understood the song The 12 Days of Christmas. (One day is plenty, thanks.) But it’s one of those longtime holiday traditions that everyone has to embrace each year without ever asking why, like opening tiny squares on the Advent calendar or staging awkward lip locks under mistletoe. For some (and we mean us), the holiday hoopla easily turns from merry and bright to smothering and downright expensive. Save one surviving tradition, of course – booze! That’s why we’re always up for soaking in seasonal shenanigans like free Miller Lite and Bacardi cocktails at Orlando Pub Crawl’s the 12 Bars of Christmas hop. The jovial romp around downtown Orlando stirs up a jolly good time at 12 local watering holes, with stops at Finnhenry’s, the Beacham, Wai Tiki and Latitudes. If nothing more, it’s an excuse to throw on some reindeer antlers, warm up with a cute someone and, for once, actually brag about being on the naughty list. – Aimee Vitek (8 p.m. starting at the Lodge, 49 N. Orange Ave.; orlandopubcrawl.com; $20 cash or an unwrapped toy valued at $20)
