Friday, Dec. 23 – J.J. Grey of MOFRO
Here we go again, folks. Café DaVinci, DeLand’s most unique spot for live music, has closed and reopened more times than we can remember (OK, three times), and while their Facebook page warns that tweaks are ongoing, this kickoff show with J.J. Grey of Mofro is a good sign. New owners Dan Reed and Mark Dam told our live music columnist Bao Le-Huu that live music will be an integral part of the venue’s new design – they also said to expect a grand reopening around late January – and this booking seems to back up their claims. We’re keeping our fingers crossed. – Justin Strout (with Daryl Hance; 7 p.m. at Café DaVinci, 112 W. Georgia Ave., DeLand, 386-424-8282, facebook.com/cafedavincideland, $20)
