Wednesday-Thursday, Jan. 4-5 – Seeing Rainbows in my Wine Spotlight Cabaret Series
Bawdy actresses, cross-dressers, torch songs, lots of liquor – that’s what we think of when we hear the word cabaret. While we doubt many people are getting plastered and trying to get a peek up a tranny’s skirts at the Winter Park Playhouse, this popular series promises you at least a drink and a pretty lady to look at and listen to. Tonight’s performance features Kate Zaloumes, who’ll do some jazz standards and musical favorites, accompanied by pianist Christopher Leavy. It won’t be Le Chat Noir, but it’ll probably be fun and if you drink enough while you’re there, maybe you really will start to see rainbows in your wine. – Erin Sullivan (7:30 p.m. at Winter Park Playhouse, 711 Orange Ave., Suite C, Winter Park, 407-645-0145, winterparkplayhouse.org, $20 (includes one drink), $10 standing room (no drink included)
