Saturday, Jan. 7Crealdé Open House

This isn’t your standard no-touching-just-looking art affair. The folks at Crealdé School of Art want you to dive hands-first into their Winter Park creative village, and today’s “A Day of Film & a Night of Fire” event gives you that chance. By day (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.), delve into the art of film photography (like, you know, the old-school, pre-digital, develop-your-own pics) with a tour of Crealdé’s brand-new darkroom facility, artist demonstrations and a camera cleaning by Kiwi Camera Service. By night (5 to 10 p.m.), grab a sneak peek of Crealdé’s annual faculty art show at the opening reception of Director’s Choice II, complete with fireside storytelling, live music and grilled fare. Tonight’s all about creating outside the box – or screen or canvas or whatever. Just go with it. – Aimee Vitek (10 a.m.-8 p.m. at Crealdé School of Art, 600 Saint Andrews Blvd., Winter Park; 407-671-1886; crealde.org; free)
