Seeing as how very few bands ever survive or capitalize – let alone build upon – their initial blogosphere hype the way Brooklyn duo Sleigh Bells have, theirs is already a success story. But for Floridians, the formerly Sunshine State-based duo represent something even more hopeful – namely, that indie-rock good can, in fact, come out of the late-’90s/early-aughts pop scene that our region practically invented. Singer Alexis Krauss started out as a member of RubyBlue, a practically unknown late addition to the crazy more than a decade ago, and now here she is, a bona fide artist. Instilling that pride like it’s their job, Sleigh Bells announced a few months back that they would be kicking off a national tour by focusing, at first, exclusively on Florida, and bringing one-time Winter Park resident-cum-M.I.A. producer Diplo with them. Now if we could just get Justin Timberlake to accept our friend request
