Thursday, April 19 – Making a Difference: An Evening With Dr. Jane Goodall
Alfond Sports Center
1000 Holt Ave., Winter Park
Rarely do we have the opportunity to hear the legends of our time speak about their passions in person, but tonight’s our chance. World-renowned primatologist, activist, humanitarian and all-around superwoman, Jane Goodall will talk about endangered species and the destruction of our beautiful planet. Heavy, we know. But it’s not all cloudy skies: The lecture’s title should be an indicator of Goodall’s hopes to encourage people to make the world a better place for all of its inhabitants – humans and animals alike. As part of an effort to inform the public, the speech is a rise to action, as explained on her website: “Surely we can use our problem-solving abilities
to find ways to live in harmony with nature.” Whether you share her optimism or not, Goodall is sure to make you think of society, nature and how we fit into it all as a species. – Leanna Robinson
