Thursday, May 17 – 20th Annual Celebration of International Heritages
Orlando City Hall
400 S. Orange Ave.
Each year the president decrees the third week of May as World Trade Week, spurring industry hubs like New York City to hold business seminars and awards banquets. But here in Orlando, for the last 20 years, we’ve turned it into a party (natch). And this year, the World Trade Center Orlando sets the Celebration of International Heritages in the middle of the outdoor rotunda of Orlando City Hall. It’s a day to emphasize the illustrious cultural diversity found among the city’s residents, who will be represented by local chambers of commerce – from African to Asian to Latin American to European and beyond – with an array of ethnic eats and live entertainment. Think of it as a chance to meet your neighbors and give a collective nod to our local contribution to the national melting pot. – Aimee Vitek
