Saturday, June 2 – An Evening of Comedy and Improv
Lowndes Shakespeare Center
812 E. Rollins St.
It’s easy for Harry Potterphiles to become entrenched with J.K. Rowling’s fantasy empire, what with those charming school-age characters, the soaring broomstick action and the naively mesmerizing intro to witchcraft. But if just for tonight, the drama will dissolve into comedy, as wizards and Muggles alike are welcomed for an evening of Potter-inspired shenanigans. Pulled straight from J.K. Rowling’s pages (or in this case, the big screen), the evening showcases Potter stars Stan Ianevski (Quidditch stud Viktor Krum in Goblet of Fire) and Louis Cordice (student Blaise Zabini from Half-Blood Prince and also Deathly Hallows: Part 1 & Part 2) in fan meet-and-greets and autograph sessions. Orlando-based comedian Nick Paul, who’s played around with the likes of the Second City Touring Co. and Cirque du Soleil, will stir up his own light-hearted magic throughout the night with onstage card tricks and mime acts. – Aimee Vitek
