Downtown Disney's Raglan Road hosts four-day Irish fest

Friday, Aug. 31 – The Great Irish Hooley

through Monday, Sept. 3

Raglan Road Irish Pub

1640 E. Buena Vista Drive

Lake Buena Vista

It’s been quite a month of firsts for Orlando: In August, downtown got its first fetish ball and now Downtown Disney gets its first “boutique” Irish festival! (Potato/potahto, right?) Taking its name from a traditional celebration, the Great Irish Hooley promises Irish bands (including Elevation, a U2 tribute band), dance lessons for the whole family – yes, kids can come, too – girls on tabletops and of course imported beer and shepherd’s pie. Get into the spirit and show up in Irish apparel! Just be sure to leave the ball gag at home this time. It’s not that kind of festival. – Justin Strout
