Thursday, Sept. 27 – Metric 8 p.m. Hard Rock Live 6050 Universal Blvd. 407-351-5483 hardrocklive.com $29-$34
Emily Haines, lead muse of Canadian act Metric, has an all-purpose kind of voice. Whether sinking into an emotional abyss, triumphantly raising a fist or standing in for the Clash at Demonhead in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Haines’ style is what Dan Savage might call GGG: Good, giving and game. On their new album, Synthetica, the group seems to know this much. It’s a strutting effort, band-heavy in spite of the title and more singalong-able than ever, which should make tonight loads of fun. – Justin Strout
