Thursday-Saturday, Nov. 8-10 – DRIP's Grand Opening
8747 International Drive
OK, for real this time. After a whole year of press releases since the announcement of their lease signing, and even more years of ramping up to that, local performance art group DRIP is finally opening their permanent venue to the public. Now backed by live rock musicians, the dance-based troupe is known for fast-paced, color-splashed physical performances that are somewhat akin to a sexier, coed, garage version of the Blue Man concept for adults. In sharp contrast to the tourist plasticity of their I-Drive surroundings, their new venue is a voluminous 5,100-square-foot warehouse space that’s also an “industrial dive bar” slinging wine and colored beer, which remains open to the non-ticket-holding public after the show. Save $6 on tickets to the grand-opening weekend when you pre-purchase through DRIP’s website (ilovedrip.com). So it’s official, y’all (at least, we’re pretty sure it is). Go get splashed. – Bao Le-Huu
