Schadenfreude has a new pronunciation today, and that is DOR-WERTH (or, rather, state Rep. Chris Dorworth, R-Lake Mary). The once and future king – actually, speaker-designate – was unseated today by Mike Clelland following a long night and long morning of number crunching by the Seminole County Supervisor of Elections office. Below, the not-at-all-pleased-with-itself press release from the Florida Democratic Party. So long, doughboy. We'll miss you!

FL Dems Statement on Recount Results Confirming Clelland's Victory in HD 29

TALLAHASSEE, FL – The Florida Democratic Party today released the following statement in response to the results of a recount in House District 29 which has confirmed Democrat Mike Clelland’s victory over former incoming House Speaker Chris Dorworth.   STATEMENT FROM FL DEMS CHAIR ROD SMITH:   “Congratulations again to Mike Clelland on a hard fought victory. After counting and recounting the votes, Clelland has proven the upset that should send shockwaves across the Republican Party and the deep pocketed special interests in Tallahassee.   “We also congratulate Seminole County Democrats for their impressive victories this cycle.”   ###
