Wednesday, Nov. 14 – The Passenger
with Emperor X, Pretty & Nice, Out Go the Lights
1042 N. Mills Ave.
If you missed Weezer last week, don’t fret. This week, you can catch the Passenger, Orlando’s latest feel-good alt-rock band that conjures a similar vibe through their own enthusiastic anthems. While it’s true that the Passenger emerged onto Orlando’s scene just this year with their debut album Here Today, Gone to Maui, the core duo of Noah Kussack and Beau Rothman will doubtless be familiar to many Orlandoans from their previous collaboration, XOXO. Their former sound was the type of live music you say-cheese grin along to, pogo-sticking in the crowd. The Passenger’s new music is definitely a ripened extension of that, and as a bonus for fans of Weezer-spawn like the Get Up Kids or the Appleseed Cast, the record was mixed by Ed Rose, the same guy who mixed your favorite albums of that early-2000s era of charged emo. This show promises an easily indulged energy. – Ashley Belanger
