In a world dominated by corporate interests and faceless food conglomerates, one elite group of heroes stands between us and the mystery meat and veggies of the future – our local farmers. Celebrating the hard work of our local gardeners, farmers, entrepreneurs and nonprofits, the Winter Park Harvest Festival provides a venue for community food producers to come together with the public, sell their homegrown goods and give helpful hints for growing their own grub. The festival is the perfect opportunity to stock up on all the fresh provisions necessary to make this Thanksgiving a delicious, nutritious and economically stimulating affair for the whole community. Complete with live folk music, learning activities for kids of all ages and samples of locally grown greens, this event is a can’t-miss for foodies of all persuasions. – Victor Ocasio
