More than two dozen artists featured in the annual Wekiva PaintOut

Sunday, March 3 – Wekiva PaintOut

through March 10

Wekiva Island

1014 Miami Springs Drive, Longwood

The peace and tranquility of the scenic outdoors is enough to send any serious artist on an imaginative and creative frenzy, what with all the fresh air whipping past as they put paint on canvas. That kind of inspiration flourishes again at this year’s seventh annual Wekiva PaintOut, where artists from every walk of life – and their paintings, in a wide range of styles – are featured in a weeklong art festival set in the outdoor environs of Wekiwa Springs State Park. Not only can you watch more than two dozen artists painting live in the park, but the week also brings art auctions, workshops and lectures, live music concerts and food offerings (for those interested in the art of eating). Time to pull out the easel and let the paint fly! – Drexler B. James
