When you hear the word “fringe” you probably think of unnatural things that hang on the edge of society or the rug in your living room. Yet, Fringe at the Hard Rock couldn’t be a better title for what is coming to Hard Rock Live, especially with Police Academy alumnus and host Michael Winslow, who is known as “The Man of 10,000 Sound Effects” – he can replicate thousands of noises with just his vocal cords. This shindig’s musical lineup features the Mud Flappers, with their eclectic “Floridana” stylings, and local rock band the Downgetters. Comedy, theater and dance performances are scheduled to shake the walls, too, with the likes of Piranha the Musical, Emotions Dance troupe, The Downtowners and more. Dubbed the “Biggest, Baddest Fringe Fundraiser Yet,” this is only a sneak peek of what’s to come at this year’s Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival (May 15-28). – Shelby England
