Friday, May 31 – Two Piece Mini Fest 5
The Peacock Room
1321 N. Mills Ave.
The beast that is the Two Piece Mini Fest bares its chest this week to celebrate its fifth iteration. It’s hard to believe it’s been five years of ridiculously rad music that showcases our area’s most rocking duos, but it’s not surprising considering how smartly it’s been curated over the years, not to mention how awesome their posters are year after year. If you’ve never seen the disturbingly detailed Austin James illustrations, we’d highly recommend checking out his work at wet-brain.com. But enough about art appreciation, you’re mostly in for a treat this year due to a solid lineup including experimental pop from Brazos the Rat, washed-out new funk from Trails’ recently released Kalevéla EP and, of course, the commanding garage-y goodness of Yogurt Smoothness. They’ll have two stages running at the Peacock Room, so the music will be a non-stop rollick, tea for two and two for tea. – Ashley Belanger
