This week, Orlando's favorite breakout electronic producer XXYYXX heads south to take part in the III Points Festival in Miami, joining an impressive conference that also features James Murphy and Jamie XX. For his performance, he is joined by Orlando's other favorite electronic act (brothers from the same mother, Relief in Abstract) Fortune Howl, Tampa's Spies on Bikes and experimental mastermind DJ Shadow. Their showcase is scheduled for 9.m. Friday, Oct. 4 at Sound Stage at Mana Miami Production Village, if you're in the area or plan to travel to the conference.
It's a pretty neat event that promises the usual mix of talks, parties and live music, but also fun extras like a vinyl disco, a bro gaming lounge and DJ sessions galore. But it's also a pretty amazing step for XXYYXX, who it seems has flown quickly from being the student to the master, as his authority within electronic music continues to be acknowledged, celebrated and partied down with.
