This Sunday. March 2 at Will's Pub, 15 local bands are billed for only $5 from 6 p.m. til close to benefit the Whole Planet Foundation. They're calling it Whole Planet Fest, and the upbeat punk of Flashlights will be the main event. Flashlights have been attracting some attention nationally and supporting some major artists recently, including opening up for Jimmy Eat World at the end of last year. You can see photos from that show here:
Flashlights released a new EP last May on Hard Rock Records. It's called Don't Take Me Seriously, but "Choking" is a serious ripper for anyone daring enough to listen up now:
The rest of the lineup isn't exactly slouching either, including a range of folks ya might've seen dominating our music venues: Emily Kopp, Jr Meowzer, Evan Taylor Jones, the Getbye, Milk Carton Superstars, Sterling Schroeder and the Chosen Ones, Afeefa & the Boy, Kelly Craven, Robert Johnson, Roger Amundsen (Of Jubal's Kin), Lauren Carder & the Multiple Me, Bella Sutra, Scotty Crow and Due South (with Sarah Purser).
