New tastes around town: Marlow's Tavern, Chuy's, Another Broken Egg, and Noodles & Co.

Through March 31, Marlow’s Tavern offers a NOLA-inspired Bayou ’n’ Bourbon menu including such dishes as deconstructed jambalaya, fiery spice lump crab cake and shrimp po'boy (pictured). The bar menu is even more ambitious, offering a Ramos Gin Fizz (gin, house-made sour mix, light cream and orange flower water "shaken 50 times") among the Abitas and Hurricanes.

Austin-based Tex-Mex chain Chuy’s has opened in the I-Shops on I-Drive. There's already one Central Florida location (in Kissimmee), but this one is just that much closer for you to satisfy those I-must-have-salsa-served-from-the-trunk-of-a-vintage-auto cravings. Actually, there's more than salsa in that car: "the famous Fully-Loaded Nacho Car offer[s] a trunk load of chips, salsa, chile con queso, taco meat and more."

For fans of breakfast, another Another Broken Egg Café hatches (sorry!) later this year, this one in Lake Mary. Their Benedict platters are said to be eggs-ceptional (sorry!) and their Bananas Foster waffles, right, look eggs-traordinary (sorry!). For now you can visit Another Broken Egg in Winter Park Village.

Noodles & Company
opens Monday, March 3, with a multinational menu of noodles – Italian pasta, pad Thai, Japanese yakisoba (sort of), American mac & cheese. I was excited by the concept, but I'm disappointed by their lack of fortitude — the menu cheats the name by offering soups, salads, sandwiches, etc., just like any other restaurant. Oh well. Someday my noodle shop will come. Noodles & Co. is located at 12531 State Road 535 (near the Premium Outlets mall and the Mary, Queen of the Universe shrine, if that helps you visualize the area).
