It's been about three months since Elvis the fainting goat and 14 of his barnyard friends were heisted from the petting zoo outside Groveland's Red Wing Restaurant. Just as hope was beginning to fade, last week authorities recovered one of the missing potbellied pigs after an alert crime-stopper on Facebook noticed the pig in a photo with an unknown boy. Red Wing owner Patrick Borsey is convinced this boy (a teenage dropout, allegedly, who lives out of state) is also responsible for thieving the other animals; the Lake County Sheriff's Office apparently feels the same way and is preparing to issue a warrant this week. Stay tuned to the Weekly for further developments.
In happier news, one of the fainting goats the thieves left behind at Red Wing recently gave birth to twin kids. A donkey on the premises also birthed a foal. Here's to happy, healthy lives for all these little furry nuggets of joy.
