In January we reported that the city of Orlando was planning to construct a new dog park in Orlando, not far from Lake Underhill. The park, which will be located at 201 Andes Ave. off Lake Underhill Drive, will have fenced-in areas for small and large dogs, picnic areas, a jogging trail and a doggie drinking fountain. A firm opening date for the park, which will be called the Park of the Americas, has not been announced, but the city says it will be open for use before the end of 2014.
UPDATE: At the Oct. 20 meeting of the Orlando City Council, the city announced that the new dog park will open on Nov. 22.
