The downtown branch of the Funky Monkey Wine Company is now known as Funky Monkey Wine Company's Nick's Italian Kitchen. Yeah, it's a mouthful. (Ha.) The Mills 50 district restaurant has made some serious changes to their menu: Gone are the sushi, steak, seafood and game offerings, replaced with pasta, panzanella and profiteroles. Yes, steak and seafood still make an appearance on the new menu, but with more of an Italian spin (i.e. risotto as a side, instead of black beans and rice). But never fear, the famous fried goat cheese isn't going anywhere.
FMI Restaurant Group properties have been switching things up like crazy this summer. Earlier this month, the former Bananas Modern American Diner reopened as Mills Brewpub, switching from standard diner fare to standard pub fare, like shepherd's pie and bangers and mash.
If you have a hankerin' for the original Funky Monkey Wine Company menu, you can still enjoy it at the Pointe Orlando location. (We'll let you know if that changes.)
