Orlando is quickly turning into a foodie paradise. We've got five new Orlando restaurants, as reported in this week's Tip Jar, coming on the scene relatively soon that should make the decision not to stay in (despite the pouring rain) a little easier:
Beth’s Burger Bar, the downtown late-night burger-and-fries (and pickle chips!) staple, is bringing its tastiness to Edgewood, in a former baseball card shop on South Orange Avenue. Owner Beth Steele hopes to have the new Burger Bar open by the end of this month.
The self-proclaimed pioneer of Indian street food, Royal Indian Cuisine, is now open in Casselberry. The restaurant features tandoori specialties like chicken tikka and boti kabab, a whole slew of veggie dishes like aloo gobi and palak paneer, a ridiculous selection of naan (we can't wait to try the "bullet naan," topped with cilantro and chili) and more.
A second Green Day Café location has opened in the space formerly occupied by Virgin Olive Market on North Orange Avenue. Now Orlandoans will have two options for noshing on super-healthy wraps, bowls and salads. Pro tip: The Holy Guacamole wrap is killer.
The official opening date for Capa, the rooftop Spanish/contemporary steakhouse at the new Four Seasons Resort, is Monday, Oct. 20. We look forward to getting our mouths around some of their high-end tapas while watching the fireworks from their patio.
Seafood and steak joint Mingos is planning to open another location on Restaurant Row, in the Dr. Phillips Marketplace space where Star Hair Studio used to be.
