For those who have never experienced Fest, the joyous mayhem of the whole weekend is impossible to describe, but Orlando frequently benefits from the raucous festival as bands and fans from all over the world tiptoe south to play additional shows in our venues. This pre-Fest show features punk icon Mikey Erg performing with two of Florida’s brightest punk bands, Dikembe and You Blew It! As if that weren’t flashy enough, you’ve got Orlando’s Teen Agers holding down the classic sound and the adventurous spectacle of Pup to shake things up both sonically and literally. Pup was just in town this spring, and as many who attended might note, they had some choice words for Orlando Weekly, but we’ve since patched things up with the band (you can read for yourself how we settle the beef at blogs.orlandoweekly.com/orlando-music-news). Whether you’re Fest-ing or not, this show should be dog-eared as unmissable. – Ashley Belanger
