costume required | 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22 | Venue 578 (formerly Firestone Live), 578 N. Orange Ave. | 407-872-0066 | orlandozombieball.com | $15-$20

Last year was our first go at hosting a killer Halloween bash to kick off Orlando’s favorite season – and, if we do say so ourselves, it was pretty much amazing. Hundreds of you dressed to impress (or perhaps we should say “kill”) and packed into Firestone Live (now known as Venue 578) for a night of tricks (a creeptastic scare zone upstairs) and treats (costume contests, visits from professional haunts, a psychic), dancing and drinking, and some of the best costumes we’ve seen in years. It was so much fun that we’re doing it again, and you really should be there. Celeb DJ Brian Dawe is spinning tunes again and we’ll have a live performance by Phantasmagoria, a costume contest with a $1,000 cash prize and an awesome scare zone hosted by Legends: A Haunting at Old Town. So break out the bat ears and vampire fangs and fake blood, bring your friends to Venue 578 and get ready for a scary-good time. – Erin Sullivan
