About 6,000 runners are expected to take to the pavement in this annual 5K fundraiser for Seniors First, a nonprofit that serves the needs of Central Florida senior citizens. Runners of all ages are welcome and encouraged to join in the fun. Turkey-inspired costumes are heavily encouraged, as there will be a costume contest first thing in the morning – just be careful of overzealous wattles slapping you in the face while you run. Don’t forget to practice up on your turkey calls, too; there will be an awkward gobbling contest near the starting line. (We ask you to practice so you can avoid giving gobble-face to all those strangers.) Funds raised will go toward senior programs in Orange and Seminole counties.

7 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 27 | Lake Eola Park, 195 N. Rosalind Ave. | 407-292-0177 | seniorsfirstinc.org | $35
