"The Millenia Takeover" protest against police brutality is tonight

Eight days ago, we witnessed an amazing sight downtown when nearly 300 people staged a die-in outside of the Amway Center. The cause, rather obviously, was the wave of police brutality cases that have inspired the hashtag "#blacklivesmatter." Well, tonight, some of the same groups involved in that protest will be staging something similar at the Mall at Millenia, just in time for hasty Christmas shopping chaos. Organizers are asking that you arrive by 7 p.m. at the Super Target parking lot across the street from the mega-mall, and things will proceed from there. If you can't make it, a livestream site has been set up by nonprofit group Brown Boys Matter. But if you feel like you want to "shut it down" it's probably best to be there in person.
