BREAKING BAR NEWS: Owners of Bar-BQ-Bar and Planet Pizza join forces in Dive Bar space

The ink is still drying and the details are scant, but Hurst Marshall (co-owner of Bar-BQ-Bar) and Frank Saljanin (of Planet Pizza) are joining forces for a new bar concept to take over the Dive Bar space (63 N. Orange Ave.). So far, they're staying mum on everything for now, even the new name. But Marshall tells us that it will be "simple" and very "local" (which sorta reminds us of another recently, dearly departed downtown dive) and that they're looking to open it within a month.

This venture isn't connected to the new Bar-BQ-Bar concept in the works over in Mills 50 in the old Peacock Room space.

Stay tuned.
