Glen Hansard reminds us of his sweet, singular force at the Beacham

The emotion that Glen Hansard packs into a single note ought to make his surging songs exhausting, but instead it’s a genuine enchantment to hear him project so effortlessly, and live, it’s even more unreal. A lesser singer could not convince the way he does, and while it’s always a special treat to see his Swell Season counterpart Marketa Irglova at his side, it’ll be a shocking reminder to witness his singular force when he’s got the whole stage to himself. And for fans of Songs:Ohia, this tour is especially heartrending, since Hansard will soon release It Was Triumph We Once Proposed … Songs of Jason Molina, his tribute EP that comes out March 17 and honors the much-esteemed songwriter who died in 2013. If you’re curious just what that sounds like, you can preview “Being in Love” on Hansard’s Soundcloud. It’s as chilling as you’d hope, so just imagine it live.

GLEN HANSARD 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6 | The Beacham, 46 N. Orange Ave. | 407-246-1419 | | $30-$40
