This summer, the Dr. Phillips Center Florida Hospital School of Arts & Wellness (say that in one breath) will partner with Kostya Kimlat and his "team of certified and trained magicians" in a weeklong session at their inaugural summer camp.
According to the Dr. Phil communiqué we just received, Kimlat's See Magic Live program:
… is designed to stimulate the imagination. The camp will teach the various styles of magic performed by the most famous magicians in history. It will give students the tools to analyze and understand the important elements that make a great magic performance. The camp’s ultimate purpose is to foster confidence in every student as a performer and public speaker. … Geared toward those who have an emerging love for magic. Students will be fascinated by this chance to broaden their appreciation and understanding of the amazing art of illusion. After this course, students of this program will be able to perform amazing feats in almost any situation with everyday objects.
If you are interested in enrolling your kids, the summer session runs June 22-26 in two classes, age 10-13 and age 14 and up; the school says their fall session will include classes geared specifically for adults.
Kostya Kimlat "leads a team of personally trained and certified magicians, who are the resident magicians for the Orlando Magic NBA team," as well as performing a dinner magic show at Christner's Steak & Lobster the last Saturday of the month, so hey, if he can pull focus from Victor Oladipo or a hunk of red meat, he must know what he's doing.
You know darn well when you cast your spell (no, but really: At 1:13 this video turns to gold):
