10 cool ways to spend Father's Day with good ol' dad

Can't think of what to get dear ol' dad for Father's Day (Sunday, June 21)? Get him out of the house and spend some quality time with him around Orlando! Here are 10 cool ways to pass the day with your pa.

1. Shop, cook and eat local.
Meander around Lake Eola and pick up some fresh produce, sweets and goods at the Orlando Farmer's Market. Then spend some quality time in the kitchen with dad and whip up a Father's Day dinner.

2. Bond over favorite music, old and new.
Let dad soundtrack the day (if you dare) by taking him to peruse the variety of old and new music at Park Ave CDs or Rock & Roll Heaven. Then roll the windows down and take a leisurely Sunday drive with his new album playing in the background.

3. Ride the waves.
Wakesurf at Aktion Parks (formerly Orlando Watersports Complex) with the dad who walks on water.

4. Pig out with pops.
Rosen Centre Hotel on International Drive is laying out a buffet of dad-approved delights.

5. Hit the links.
Spend some time with your golfing guru out on the course. Nestled on the north end of Park Avenue, Winter Park Country Club is a charming 9-hole course with reasonable rates.  If putt-putt is more your style, try out Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf

Fast Times at Ridgemont High at the Enzian, plus a free beer for dad!

6. Catch a movie with your main man.
Watch Fast Times at Ridgemont High, an oldie but goodie, at The Enzian for a Father's Day special where dad gets a free brew.

7. Picnic, paddle and repeat at Wekiwa Springs.

Spend a leisurely day canoeing the springs, people-watching and picnicking on the banks of this local treasure.

8. Soak in some live, local music.
After grabbing dinner and drinks with dad, head to a local concert:
Indie-Punk Sunday Matinee
Join six Florida bands - Edmonton, the New Lows, Moonbeard, the Areolas, the Florida Rooms and Coma ClubSunday afternoon at St. Matthew’s Tavern. Plus, if you bring your dad, he gets in free!
Scott Dickinson Jazz Trio

Spend an evening with dad for a night of improvised, classical jazz at Timucua White House
Southern Fried Sunday
Drop an extra $8 on dad to buy his homecooked dinner at this local favorite showcase that features Sean Holcomb & Friends, Big Shoals, Jackson Rodgers Band and Jordan Foley at Will's Pub.

9. Get dad high.
As long as pops isn't afraid of heights, take him for a trip on The Orlando Eye, the tallest observation wheel on the East Coast.

10. Let dad give the grill a break without sacrificing his fave BBQ.
If something smoked and savory appeals to y'all's tastebuds, dine with dad at 4 Rivers Smokehouse, or spice things up for him with the fusion at Pig Floyd's Urban Barbakoa.
