Rumors have been swirling around for months now about Mexican striker Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez transferring to the Orlando City Soccer Club of the MLS, but is there any truth to it?

According to WKMG-TV Local 6, there is a “65 to 70 percent chance” of the Lions signing the the Manchester United player in the coming weeks. However, Orlando City president Phil Rawlins told Tribal Football that the rumors were “all speculation.”

Lenny Santiago, vice president of communications for the club, told the Orlando Weekly Monday that the rumors resurfaced after Mexico played in Orlando against Costa Rica.

“We don’t comment on player rumors or speculation,” he says. “If and when something is signed, we will make an announcement.”

Hernandez, who played with Real Madrid last season, fractured his collarbone last week during a friendly Mexico-Honduras match.
