Disney World’s latest experience means you’ll be cooking your own food while forking over $175 to do so. The new Disney Family Culinary Adventure
allows guests 9 and older to enter a catering kitchen at the Contemporary Resort and help prepare a 5 course meal.
The experience is designed for 30 guests at a time and is done twice a week on a rotating selection of days.
Guests are broken into 5 groups and sent to a station to prepare part of the meal. Some of the stations include a ‘Pasta’ station where guests make pasta from scratch, a ‘Garde Manager’ station where guests make butter from scratch and build salads on a “rapidly moving electric belt.” A butcher station, patisserie and a sushi station are also included. The sushi station may rotate with other options in the future.
After you help prepare the meal, guests will sit down in the same kitchen to be served the meal they just prepared. A special molecular gastronomy demonstration is included with the meal as well. At the end of the 4 hour experience, guests will receive a signed cookbook and special chef’s hat. Guest will also have the opportunity to ask the chefs questions with Disney promising no culinary question will go unanswered.
So next time you get bored just remember you can pretend to be a low-wage hotel salad builder and all for only $175.
